In 1980, she discovered the wonderful medium of quilting and has been hooked on quilting and patchwork ever since, resulting in numerous quilts and wall hangings for herself, family, and friends.

Recently, when her son asked for a pieced clerical stole to wear during his guest speaking appearances at Unitarian Universalist Churches, she took up the challenge and created a pieced stole that exactly matched his desires and expectations. After that first stole, she realized that she liked working with the smaller items and the bright colored fabrics that make a striking stole.
