Karen Holmgren
Is a fiber artist specializing in art quilts and hand embroidery. She began making liturgical vestments while attending a small Catholic church. Since becoming a UU she has made a number of pulpit banners and stoles for her congregation, using patchwork, applique, and embroidery, to carry out themes. The minister at her church requested a stole with the "Standing on the Side of Love" logo to wear at public demonstrations and denominational gatherings. The Standing on the Side of Love Stole, made of 100% cotton twill, measures 40" from the center back seam to the end. The SSL logo is imprinted on the upper left and enhanced with a band of rainbow-striped ribbon.
