UniUniques' Services to Artisans, Congregations & Congregants |
|
|
UniUniques provides
a service that connects UU Artisans with individual UUs and congregations
looking for fine art to enrich their worship experience. To do this, we assembled
collections of color photos that represent the work of UU Artisans in areas in
which congregations have expressed an interest:
Chalices, Clerical Stoles, Pulpit cloths, Wall hangings, Stained glass, & Sculpture.
We present them here for your viewing.
The mission of UniUniques is two fold: To educate congregations to the fact that there are UU Artisans who are willing and able to create fine art for worship settings; and, to encourage and inspire UU Artisans to use their talents to create UU Fine Art that enhances and enriches the worship experience. It truly is a "win-win" situation. The more fine art the artisans produce, the more congregations see that fine art really does enrich their worship experience; the more artisans see that congregations appreciate what they create, the more inspired they become to put additional time and effort into creating more UU Fine Art. There's a parallel movement. As individuals and families experience the enriching effect of fine art in their congregational |
worship, they start incorporating it into their personal and home worship. Already,
individuals ask for personal and family size chalices. We expect the interest to
increase and to include other forms of fine art.
UU artisans learn about UniUniques from attending General Assembly, seeing the UniUniques catalog and ads in the UU World, by word of mouth, and most recently, on the world wide web. Most artisans are Unitarian Universalists in Canada or the United States. UniUniques operates by providing information to anyone who asks about Fine Art for Worship, then by following up while they decide on the art they want or the direction to take. When appropriate, we put them in touch with the artisan with whom they wish to work, so details concerning design, size, color, price, and length of time needed to complete the order, can be ironed out directly between the two parties. When the details have been completed, UniUniques does the billing, and pays the artisan. |
How to Order UU Fine Art from UniUniques |
|
|
After Looking at the work of these artisans, please call UniUniques at 585-248-5688 (or contact us by e-mail: Nancy@UniUniques.com) to review with us that which you already know about the following: likes; dis-likes; designs, sizes, colors and materials you like; budget; and desired delivery date. If you choose a design already in existence, UniUniques contacts the artisan to confirm that colors, materials, price, and delivery schedule can be met. At that point, UniUniques places the order with the artisan, and requests payment from you for the item. Payment can be by check or credit card - VISA, Master card, or American Express. If further designing or a unique design is in order, UniUniques puts you in touch with the artisan(s) to refine the concepts and work out an estimate, based on information given. Once the details of design, size, colors, price, and estimated delivery date, have been agreed upon, the order goes forward, and UniUniques requests a deposit from you of 50% of the agreed upon price. |
UniUniques does the billing and pays the artisan. Checks and credit cards - MasterCard, VISA, and American Express
- are accepted.
Prices listed with photos, in the catalog, or quoted by artisan, do not include shipping. Shipping depends upon packaging materials used, weight, and distance, and generally ranges from $15 - $65, except for overnight delivery. Some items in this collection do not have prices listed because prices depend upon size and materials used. Do try to order far enough ahead to provide the time necessary for the artisan to create the item you really want. We want you to be pleased with the artisan's creation. Custom orders are not returnable, except in the case of defects in materials and/or workmanship. We expect that you will respect the artisans' originality and efforts to produce UU related designs, and that you therefore will not produce these designs yourself, nor ask someone else to produce them for you. |
